Bruno Mars’ real name is Peter Gene Bayot Hernandez. His stage naga4d name, “Bruno Mars,” was inspired by the wrestler Bruno Samartino, because, as a child, Bruno was confident, independent, and strong-willed, like the wrestler. The ‘Mars’ came along because girls used to say he was “out of this world,” so he used the planet Mars as his last name.

Bruno Mars is 36 years old and was born on October 8, 1986, in Waikiki, Hawaii.

His father, Pete, was a Latin percussionist, and his mother, Bernadette (Bernie), was a singer.

In the early 2000s, Bruno started to find success by writing songs for many popular artists, including Flo Rida’s “Right Round,” Travie McCoy’s “Billionaire,” and K’Naan’s “Wavin’ Flag,” which was the theme song for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics

On September 19, 2010, Bruno was arrested for possession of illegal drugs in a Las Vegas casino bathroom.

Mars broke out as a singer in 2010 with his hit “Nothin’ on You.”
